About Rachelle

Thank you for visiting my page. My name is Rachelle. I am an International Doula Institute (IDI) Certified Birth Doula and Certified Massage Therapist. I am a wife, a mother to four biological children and two stepchildren, a daughter, sister, auntie, and friend. I have had a strong desire to help care for and facilitate healing for people since I was a young child. When I was 7 years old, I decided that I wanted to be a massage therapist, and that never wavered. After the birth of my first daughter, I fell in love with birth work. I attended many friend’s births and realized that helping to hold space for others in that environment was quickly becoming a passion of mine. Massage and doula work are very similar in that I am working with each person to help them achieve their goals and get the results they desire.

I received my certification in massage therapy in 2008 from Northwestern Health Sciences University. I specialize in Trigger Point Therapy, Rehabilitative Massage, and Therapeutic Massage. I enjoy utilizing these techniques when working with clients to help them find relief from chronic or acute issues and also help them achieve a higher level of wellness.

I received my certification from The International Doula Institute in 2020. I had been contemplating pursuing doula work professionally for several years. When many hospitals reduced visitors due to Covid, I was faced with two options; only being present for a friend virtually, or finally saying “Yes” to a career and putting in the work to get my certification so that I could be there for her in person. I am so happy that I did! The education I received helped me to build confidence and understand the birth world deeper so that I can more effectively help others become their own advocates.
